1.    Beginner-friendly:

With a clean interface that’s intuitive and easy to navigate, even beginners can understand and use the platform effortlessly.

Plus, Constant Contact provides helpful tips for users who may need extra help.

2.    Niche Tools:

As this digital age continues to evolve, Constant Contact has done a pretty good job at adopting features.

Some of these features include social media marketing and post-scheduling, AI automation, event marketing, and the ability to sell digital products.

3.    Built-in CRM:

Basic contact management is included in all plans (with advanced segmentation tools available on higher-paid plans).

This means you don’t need to invest in another pricey CRM tool to help manage your contacts, leads, and deals!

4.    Modern Email Editor

The drag-and-drop email template editor is responsive and easy to use, with various layouts available.

Simply insert buttons, images, tables, polls, and more to build a basic yet personalized marketing campaign.

5.    Deliverability Rate

Constant Contact’s email deliverability rate is pretty good, with emails reaching Google, Yahoo, and Outlook inboxes the majority of the time.

Additionally, you can authenticate your email and domain name to increase deliverability.

And Constant Contact is super serious about spammers. Their strict spam policy means that your account will be flagged if more than 0.1% of your emails are marked as spam!

1.    Email Templates

Although Constant Contact offers over 200 email templates, many are dated and poor quality.

And while you can tweak them here and there, the level of customization doesn’t compare to other platforms. Therefore, many of your designs may look similar.

2.    Automation

Automation is possible on Constant Contact, but the experience is really underwhelming.

You can’t combine actions and conditions like you can with other advanced automation tools.

Plus, automation triggers are limited, and you can’t build multiple-channel automations for SMS and emails.

3.    Plans

Unfortunately, there’s no free plan with Constant Contact. (If you’re after a free plan, I suggest checking out MailChimp).

But if you’re a small business with a small email list and want basic functionality, the lowest-tiered plan ($12 per month) is affordable.

If you want more advanced features to help your brand and business grow, you’ll have to upgrade to a higher-paid plan, which can get pricey depending on your email list size.

Plus, SMS marketing isn’t included in plans and has to be added for $10+ per month.

4.    Email Sends

No plan comes with unlimited email sends. The number of emails you can send monthly is limited depending on your contact size!

5.    Forms And Landing Pages

While you create pop-ups, banners, flyouts, and landing pages, the level of personalization here is also limited.

All you can do is change the title, description, CTA, add and edit fields, and change the background color.

It would be amazing to see form templates and the option to add and edit other elements to make your design unique.

In regards to landing pages, there are only 5 templates.

6.    Support

Some users have reported that the email support response time is slow, and phone and chat support isn’t always available. 

My Final Thoughts

Like any tool, there are both pros and cons to Constant Contact. So, what do I think?

Constant Contact covers the basics, and if there weren’t any competition, I’d probably rate the quite highly!

Although Constant Contact earns points for decent deliverability rates and user-friendliness, their lack of advanced features unfortunately falls short.

I appreciate their recent improvements in adopting new features like enhanced automations, AI tools, and SMS marketing. But in my opinion, there are better options available in this price range!

If you’re a beginner, you might value their simplistic, lightweight approach to email marketing.

But if you’re after more advanced email tools to help scale your business. tools like ActiveCampaign and GetResponse offer more powerful capabilities at a lower cost.
